  1. Alba Recort says:

    1. Why is the film titled The Gift?
Because the boy gives the girl his heart as a present.
    2. List vocabulary you know related to romantic love and relationship (5 words / expressions) and use it / them in a sentence.
    – go out
    – make up
    – fall for
    – fall out
    – split up

Lucy and Jack have been going out for two months.
They argued yesterday but they’ve made up this morning.
Jim fell for Sally the first time he saw her.
Although Lisa and Martha love each other, they are always falling out.
Jane and Sam had a big argument last week and they split up.

Now watch the film and answer the questions below:
    3. Do you think the film illustrates a typical relationship?
Yes, I think it shows a normal relationship. At first, they were really happy with each other but later on, they started arguing all the time and they realized they didn’t know each other as well as they thought before.
    4. What adjectives would you use to describe the film?
    Emotive, sad but finally encouraging.
    5. How did the film make you feel?
At first a little bit disappointed because it shows that relationships are not always as one thinks at first, but also encouraged because it finally shows that your world doesn’t end when a relationship ends.

  2. Laia Martínez says:

    1. Why is the film titled The Gift?
Because the boy gives his heart to the girl as a present, to show her how much he loves her.

    2. List vocabulary you know related to romantic love and relationship (5 words / expressions) and use it / them in a sentence.

    2. They have been together for so long that I can hear wedding bells.
    3. They split up yesterday. Now, they’re really sad.
    4. She felt for him a long time ago, but he doesn’t feel the same.
    5. The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.

    3. Do you think the film illustrates a typical relationship?
Yes, I think that in the beginning of every relationship everything is perfect, but the flame of love tends to extinguish if you don’t take care of it. However, if you break up with your boyfriend, you’ll find your better half someday.

    4. What adjectives would you use to describe the film?
Realistic, romantic, sad (sometimes), hopeful and beautiful.

    5. How did the film make you feel?
It made me feel sad for the couple when they broke up, but at the moment he meets another girl I felt hopeful and happy.

  3. Andrés Vílchez Fernández says:

    1. Why is the film titled ‘The Gift’?
Because the boy that appears at it gives a present to a girl.
    2. List vocabulary you know related to romantic love and relationship (5 words / expressions) and use it / them in a sentence.
1 To fall in love : I haven’t fallen in love yet.
2 To date : Tom dated with Amy in a park.
3 Sweet : “He’s so sweet”, said Rachel to Maria.
4 To take the first step: If you never take the first step, you’ll never be with her.
5 Argument : After an argument, they split up.
    3. Do you think the film illustrates a typical relationship?
Yes I do. It shows some typical activities that a couple do when they go out, such as going to the park or sleeping together. Also illustrates how two people can fall in love and split up easily with time if things go wrong, like in real live.
    4. What adjectives would you use to describe the film?
Original, realistic, revealing, simple, but deep; funny, crafted, surprising…
    5. How did the film make you feel?
It made me feel weird at the beginning because of the drawings, but quickly I got interested in it and I really liked the final scene and the message hid in it (at least I interpreted that if you want to make a relationship work, you have to give something of you, not all, as well as the other person).

  4. Victor Carrasco says:

    Victor Carrasco
    1.
The film is titled “The Gift” because the boy gifts the girl something blue from inside him, which is supposed to be his heart.
    2.
    to be into someone
I’m really into her, I just can’t stop thinkking about her.
    ask someone out
I’ll ask her out to my dad’s restaurant.
    marriage
The next weekend is out marriage, we have been together for 4 years now!
to be the love of someone’s life
I am completely sure he is the lofe of my life, we have been together for years.
    3.
I think the film tries to describe a relationship but emphasizing on the bad things that can make the relationship end, like getting bored of the other one’s behaviour or being jealous about other coulpes being better.
    4.
I would use adjectives such as beautiful, romantic and cute but it can also be described with negative adjectives like sad or tragedy when the relationship ends.
    5.
The film made me feel careful about what I want to do with my life and behave properly with the person I want to love and be the rest of my life.
